This Himalayan Bead Calendar is a perpetual display of the day, month and year. Each calendar's wooden base and bone beads are meticulously hand carved in the ancient Kingdom of Nepal. The Himalayan Bead Calendar is a beautiful yet practical work of art to be displayed in your desk, mantle or bookshelf. Instructions for setting the date are enclosed in each bag. The calendar is designed for the 'month, day, year' date sequence and will not work for the 'day, month, year' date sequence. The Himalayan Bead Calendar can be read at a glance. The month, day and year are revealed on the left hand side. The outer ring shows the month, i.e. in January, the first month, just one bead would sit at the left hand side of the outer ring; in December, all 12 beads would sit there. The next two rings reveal the day of the month, e.g. 03, 19, 31. The final four rings indicate the year, e.g. 2009, or 20014. So for July 19 2009 the number of beads in sequence working towards the center from the outer ring on the left hand side would be 7,1,9,2,0,0,9. The beads on the right hand side await use at a later date.
