This bracelet was made by artisans working with Tara Projects. Most of the artisans making jewelry are women, who benefit from the fact that they can work from home and thus maintain their responsibilities for their children and household.

Tara Projects, working in a radius of about 125 miles in and around Delhi, is a fair trade program for community development and business. Tara enables several hundred artisans who create some of the major handicraft lines of north India to sell their products internationally. Tara Projects is one of the pioneering Indian organizations in providing fair wages, non-formal education programs for children and women and further development for its artisan members.
