Jose Sosa made these gorgeous bottles and collaborated with Mimi Robinson, a San Francisco based designer who creates products that reflect her global outlook and love of diverse culture. Usually Mimi collaborates with craftspeople in small villages in Peru to create products utilizing traditional skills and local materials to help build local and international markets for their work. In this case craftsman Jose Sosa made these pieces using the two-thousand year old techniques famous to the Chulucanas region of Peru. Ceramics, the material from which this piece is made, dates back to 29,000 BC. The bottles design was also motivated by the Great Dane breed of dogs, also known as Harlequins, that are the only breed to possess a coat of “torn” patches of black on white.
These bottles are signed, dated and location-marked by craftsman Jose Sosa.
The bottles are priced by piece and are not intended for water.
