This photograph was taken in Northern Thailand in September of 2006. It was a very hot day and this boy was showing me around his ethnic Akhu village. He was running around wildly during the visit, and seemed exuberant at showing me off to his family. The photograph captures him in a brief moment of defiant-faced stillness, except for the continued movement of his hands. He is wearing a traditional Akhu tunic.
