I bought this handmade, embroidered skirt at an outdoor night market in Laos. It was made by a young Lao woman, likely with skills passed down to her by her mother and grandmother.
The short, fun skirt is a modern pattern done in the traditional style of blue and white fabric, scaps of old colored fabric and intricate orange, yellow and green embroidery. With a side zipper and a drawstring waist for adjustability.
The skirt is not lined, allowing us to see the intricate handiwork that went in to its construction.
A truly gorgeous piece of art, one you can choose to display upon your wall or choose to wear.
