These hand stitched hearts are so sweet and all different. I bought them from ethnic Hmong women at the markets in Laos. You can read about my trip to Laos in our blog. The artisans sew the hearts using colorful threads and fabrics. So versatile and pretty. Just perfect for decorating a bag or purse, hanging from a window, a rear-view mirror or even as a necklace or hair tie. The hearts also make perfect little gifts or gift-toppers.
Laos is the landlocked country located next to Vietnam and Thailand in Southeast Asia. The Hmong in Laos are mostly poor, rural farmers, but the incredible hand-stitched traditional handicrafts they create are bought up quickly at local markets, giving them crucial funds to improve their standard of living.
