This photograph was taken in Princeton, Massachusetts in August of 2009. Many people don't realize what a garlic plant looks like when as it grows. The part the we eat is the bulb underground but the other end of the plant, sticking two feet in the air, erupts in to a fabulously abstract, avant-garde flower.
