We're thrilled to finally have Nawal Gebreel's scarves at the gallery. Her work is made by hand in England, using techniques that include fabric manipulation and print, producing very sculptural, 3D pieces. Her pieces invite us to explore the dramatic and artistic possibilities that can enhance an outfit yet remain practical to wear.
This piece is a metallic blue-lilac color, with an intriguing curlique shape and fabulous spiral pleated design that allow the wearer an endless variety of fabulous ways to twist and wear it.
Nawal sells her work all over the world, namely Paris, New York, Japan and Britain. She also lectures in art and textile design at colleges throughout the Northwest of England.
Care Instructions: Never dry clean, iron or steam this garment. Hand wash only, in cold water with mild detergent. Roll up in a towel and dry flat to keep in shape.
